This Week’s Styling Duo: Casual In Pink

I've been craving some Pink these days and not just baby Pink. I want Fuschia Pink, hot Pink and all shades of Pink will do. This Pink craving led me to pull the Savage Culture Pink Rosette Delicate Dakota Tunic Dos for my wardrobe. This top is super cute with it's arabesque knit shoulders and 3D knitted Rose at the neckline it wears particularly well in the summer and early fall. Here's why:

1- It's 100% Cotton - I don't know about you but an all Cotton top feels great on my skin and I don't have to worry about sweating like a swine.

2- The colors/design are an absolute thrill. If you like dressing girly and pretty in Pink then you will totally understand my sentiment.

So, this super cute top is on and then I am struck with the decision of: Do I want a skirt, legging or pant to pair it off with. I quickly decide that legging just isn't right because this top hits me slightly below my hipline (I'm 5'5'', 40in at the bust when measuring around the fullest point, so no this isn't my bra size - just quizzing you on your fashion measuring skills. I chose a Medium (US 8-10) in this top because I like my tops fitted). I didn't have a cool enough skirt to compliment this cutie, so I decided to try out the Maloka: Rose Petal Ruched Pant in Black and guess what - it's perfect! Here's why:

1- The pant is just unique enough not to overpower the cutie top. The uniqueness is at the ankles: It's ruched in the form of a rose petal. Other than the fab ankles, this is just a super comfy loose fitting pant.

2- I love wearing these pants on a warm day because they feel so breezy on. It's easy to move in them and feels light as a bubble.

Bolero Bad Boys

Beautiful boleros, oh how we love those bad boys! Do you agree? Of course you do because a dress is just not a dress without the right kind of shoulder and arm candy that does not take away from the brilliance of the dress. Sneak a peek at our most beloved boleros and wrap yourself in delicious design that decorates the most desirable of dresses for every occasion and feel fantastic in the process. The bolero bad boy is an interesting breed when it comes to the world of what-do-I-wear-with-that-dress. To the unfamiliar eye, or should we say shoulder, this simply is a short jacket, but in reality it is so much more! This go-to garment is so much like the perfect man - it is surprisingly scary in a salacious kind of way! Why you ask? We hoped you would ask because we will utterly enjoy explaining it! This garment is so much like those last few syllables for many reasons. First, because it is so hard to find the perfect bolero. Second, because it also needs to complement what goes under it. Third, it has to have just the right texture to feel pleasant on our skin (our arms are sensitive) and last but not least, it needs to be able to seduce our bodice in just the right away without overpowering the entire outfit. So, now you know why finding the best bolero (perfect stud muffin, short jacket, or bolero bad boy - however you would like to call it) is just as difficult as finding the best man for our taste and fit! Thank goodness we women love those boleros so much, otherwise these bad boys would be quickly tossed into the wilderness of fashion oblivion! Let them always remember that! Let me give you a hint: she played Katie in General Hospital, Ceecee in Sister, Sister, Angel in the Steve Harvey Show, Kylie in Scrubs, and she is coming out in a new movie: Fingerprints! That's right - Chrystee Pharris! We speculate that Ms. Pharris loves this French brand for the same reasons we do: it fits so well and the colors and the design are one of a kind!
